Ray...
Internationally recognized artist, living in Sointula,
BC. He retired there in 1995 after working a number of years as a
lighthouse keeper on BC's north coast. He fell in with bad company
in Sointula and wound up "doing art". He remains hopelessly
hooked.
Self educated in art, he still does not know his genre from a hole
in the oeuvre. His decades in the steel and forestry industries didn't
do much to help him develop his artistic sensibilities.
Figurative work, the female nude, continues to be his main interest.
This obsession is a direct result of a glandular development which
occurred in his early teens and has never gotten well.
Small sculpture, printmaking and oil or acrylic painting are what
he does. Oh, he mows the lawn and trims the hedge, as well...
